The BRAVO AIR 30 is a 12V PWM charge controller rated for 30 amps of solar input, built around PWM (pulse-width modulation) charging with MOSFET switching for efficient, stable output. Unlike Rich Solar's BRAVO PRO MPPT line, this is a 12V-only controller without automatic 24V system detection — sized for standard 12V off-grid setups in RVs, trailers, campers, vans, and boats.
Bluetooth connectivity is built directly into the controller, rather than requiring a separate add-on module like the BT-1, giving you remote monitoring from a smartphone alongside the unit's onboard LED status indicators and battery type selection. Intelligent multi-stage charging adapts to your connected battery, with broad compatibility across Flooded, AGM, GEL, Calcium, and LiFePO4 chemistries. For lithium batteries specifically, auto BMS activation simplifies setup by automatically engaging the appropriate battery management interaction rather than requiring manual configuration.
Protection covers reverse polarity and short circuit conditions at either the panel or battery side, along with over-temperature protection during charging that engages at 185°F. An optional external Battery Temperature Sensor (BTS) is available separately for temperature-compensated charging based on the battery's actual temperature rather than ambient conditions near the controller. The housing is plastic (PC) with an IP22 rating — protected against limited dust and dripping water from above, but not rated for genuinely wet or exposed mounting locations.
