The BRAVO 50 DC charges from solar and a vehicle's alternator, simultaneously or independently, combining a PowerCatcher MPPT algorithm rated above 99% tracking efficiency with Buck/Boost alternator regulation. It supports 3-stage charging for lead-acid batteries and 2-stage charging for lithium batteries with BMS communication, and includes Bluetooth, RS485, CAN (RV-C), and TTL connectivity for monitoring and configuration.

Product Overview

The BRAVO 50 DC is a 50A DC-DC solar charge controller with MPPT, built to charge a 12V battery system from both a solar array and a vehicle's alternator. The PowerCatcher MPPT algorithm tracks the solar array's maximum power point at greater than 99% efficiency, with stable performance in shaded or variable light conditions. Power conversion efficiency reaches up to 96%, using Buck MPPT regulation for the solar input and Buck/Boost regulation for the alternator input.

The controller charges from solar and alternator inputs simultaneously or independently, with selectable charging priority between the two sources. It is compatible with traditional and smart alternators at 12V or 24V. Charging profiles include 3-stage charging (Bulk, Boost, Float) for lead-acid batteries and 2-stage charging for lithium batteries with BMS communication. Protection covers over-temperature, overcharge, overcurrent, and reverse polarity conditions.

Communication options include Bluetooth, TTL, RS485, and CAN using the RV-C protocol, enabling real-time monitoring and configuration through an app or a wired interface.
